Frolicing the Moeller Way!

Tonight's events took place at the designated home for all family gathers... Mom and Dad's! Once a month we get together to socialize, laugh, and enjoy in each others company to build up our family unity. Well I was in charge of planning our gathering for the month of October, and immediately I thought... "A costume party for Halloween would be fun." So I got the creative juices going, and put together a fun little evening of games, prizes, costume and pumpkin contests, and loads of laughs.
With the assistance from Mom, we planned the menu. It was pretty unanimous though that we had pizza. Sort of a family tradition.

Party time 5:00pm, one by one everyone gathers. We tooks pictures first to capture our clever disguises.
All of them were great. I must say that I love the folks for putting some effort into to playing dress up. Mom wore her Halloween shirt with a cute black cat, and Dad had him flamin' shirt... Mom likes to call it her "HOT DADDY!" It's so cute that they fool around with nicknames still.
Time for Pizza. We gathered around the dinner table to enjoy some simple conversation and food. It is always interesting what sort of topics are brought up at the dinner table... while everyone was eating we voted for the scariest, funniest, and best over all in our costume contest. I tallied up the votes to annouce the winners later. Once our meal was enjoyed, it was time for the games.

First, we had a Halloween Relay. 2 teams of 3.
Explantion of the game: First team member had to roll an apple with their nose down to the finishing line, and then run back to then help in stuffing the next team member with newspaper to create a scarecrow. Then that member had to run to the finish line to take out their stuffing and run back to help in wrapping the last team member like a mummy with toilet paper (which got to be pretty funny watching.) The mummy would have to run to the finish line and break out to complete the relay.
The teams were chosen by the players, and we had the blood Moeller's verus non-blood Moeller's... it wasn't my idea, but it worked.  Karl and David were down first rolling those apples on the floor. I was amazed at how well they both did. Next for the Stuffing of the Scarecrow were Nate vs. Lindsey. I had then put on a button-up shirt, and their team members cruppled up newspaper and shoved it into the shirt. I thought they looked just like a scarecrow. Last were Elaina vs. Katy...The best part, and funniest in the mummy wrap... the teams were clever in figuring that the person being wrapped should spin around while they other holds the toilet paper. Well those rolls of toilet paper were long, and the team members spinning got dizzy...so dizzy that they couldn't walk in a straightline to the finish. I laughed so hard mysides still hurt.

While we were cleaning up for game one, I went ahead to annouce our winners from the costume contest. Winner for Scariest was Black Riding Hood-Brigeeta(Me), Winner for the Funniest was Hugh Hefener- Karl, and Best Over All was a team win for Elaina and David the flappers.
Second game was charades. I took the names of some movie titles and wrote them on strips of paper, and we started just with one person acting out the name, and whoever guessed it got a glow bracelet and took the next turn. We played until the bracelets and movie titles were gone. I don't know how he did, but Karl walked away with the most glow bracelets.
Next we took a vote on our pumpkins... Creative was David, Inventive was Elaina, and Best over all was me. I wish I had remembered to take pictures of the pumpkins, they looked awesome. I opted to pain mine...I'm better with paint and a brush, not a knife.
We finished the night with some catch phrase and dirt dessert. Yummy! The night was a great success, and I'm pleased with how everything turned out. I love planning parties and other events. I guess it's only a matter of time before I'm planning something else.

These past eight years...

In the beginning it was puppy love. As time went by our relationship was tested. We had our moments... these hardships have helped us grow. We've learned to eliminate the idea of divorce at the beginning of our marriage which has been one of the success factors in our relationship. We work through our differences, and difficulties. We love each other for who they are, we love their faults.
We've been through 4 surgeries, 3 dogs, 3 cars, 1 seizure, 2 apartments, 1 house, and a whole LOT of love.

Today I feel so blessed; Tim and I celebrated our 8th year of marriage.

I went to work part of my shift, but upon my arrival at home Tim met me with beautiful roses. I of course had to give him a blunt signal, but that works for us. Not hidden message, just say what you mean.

We went to dinner to our favorite restaurant at the Olive Garden. We enjoyed our food, dessert, and each others company. We finished the evening by coming home and relaxing...

Celebrating Timothy!

Today, Thirty-two years ago, was the day that Timothy John Jensen came into this world. Though it was a difficult birth, being premature...He has been a blessing in the lives of those around him. I had the pleasure of meeting him November of 2002, and ever since have been involved in the celebration of this incredible man.
We kept the day low key for once, Tim started his day early in the morning with my birthday card to him; filled with a cash surprise. Tim went to work as usual, and came home to BBQ Chicken and Baked Potatoes. We later enjoyed some Banana Cream Pie when his parents came over to wish him a Happy Birthday, and give him his gift. With helpful advise from me, Tim's parents gave him a 2 terabyte external hard drive which he's hooked up to the wireless router and shown me the drive where I may store my files!
Tim's Mom was so kind to bring a home made banana cream pie, but without communicating with each other I also had a banana cream pie, however I purchase mine. Marians pie was sure delicious, and guess who's left with the remains???? This is doing no good to my weight loss!
Tim also received a card in the mail from my parents with more cash. All in mall for a low key birthday I know Tim enjoyed his day!
