2011 Christmas

Christmas Eve
We spent the evening with Tim's family. Traditionally we began with appetizers like shrimp, crackers and cheese, veggie tray, etc. Then we moved onto dinner, with Prime rib, potatoes, green beans, a green salad, and home made rolls (yum.) All the food was delicious. There was fun conversations around the table or should I say room. Close to finishing dinner Andrew and Courtney (Tim's niece) announced they're having a baby in July 2012 to the whole family.

There were family from all over the country that came in for the celebration... There was Tim's cousin Vernie who came down from San Diego, CA for the snow, sad to disappoint, but it was great to meet him and his wife Jen, and the kids. Jami (Tim's Niece) and her husband Braden along with Davis (Jami's brother, and Tim's nephew) came in from New York, and then there was Alicia, Chris and their kids McKenzie and Kingston whom came from San Antonio, TX.

Once we were stuff with the yummy food, we cleaned up, and gathered for the gift exchange. Another family tradition. I am so glad with the size of our family, that we draw names, and then get a gift for that person. It sure made the evening fun, but what mattered most to me was just being with family.

That completed the evening for Tim and I. We were both tired, and I had a pretty bad headache. We just wanted to go home and relax with our kids. We enjoyed some candy cane hot cocoa, and watched Disney's Christmas Carol before falling asleep in our bed.

CHRISTMAS DAY

We got to enjoy sleeping in, except I did need to get going on making Crescent Chicken Roll-ups for lunch at my Parents. I whipped them out like there was no tomorrow, and I ended up with 2 shy of 3 dozen roll-ups. Soon after finish making lunch we got ready and drove to my parents and enjoyed our lunch. I was a bit worried about Harrison eating with us, because he's a VERY picky eater, but to every ones surprise he ate 3 roll-ups. My cooking was a success, apparently though I didn't make enough... oh well. Once we finished lunch it was time for our gift exchange. Mom and Dad are always too generous and with a little present gave us adult kids and spouses cash.
All the aunts and uncles together gave Harrison and Giovanni two Nerf guns with lots of darts... and boy oh boy did their faces light up. Harrison kept shouting 'Thank You, Thank You!" That was truly a memorable moment. Tim reluctantly let me give my parents a framed picture of us we took in November. My Mom made a soft squeal before thanking us.
We stayed and talked awhile, and then left to go see his parents. One last gift to give...
I did the same thing and gave his parents a framed picture of us, and once again they couldn't be more happy to have received it. It tickles me pink to bring a smile to someones face.

After all the hustle and bustle we went to Burger King for some dollar menu, and I must share this because I was laughing so hard. It was really difficult to stop laughing, but when you pulled up to the ordering box a voice came on "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!" I turned to Tim, and said "Santa's got a second job... "
That would have put the icing on my cake, but when we got to the house and opened the door...the kids had left 3 surprises on the floor. YEAH, NOT! Tim took them outside and played ball with them while I was left to clean up the poop messes, and deodorize the house. Now I say that completed the festivities on our Christmas celebration.

Zoolights

Friday, December 23rd

It was so much fun watching my nephews Giovanni and Harrison get so lit up looking at the lights, and animals at the Hogle Zoo. It is fascinating to see things thru their eyes. Harrison loved the play ground and didn't want to leave.

Harrison is upset because right before taking his picture
big brother put his hand in front of the camera

At the entry they had ice sculptures, but this was the only one still standing

The exhibits I loved the most were of the owl, and reindeer...in fact I wanted to pet the reindeer but that is shunned upon.

However I got pics...

This Santa's reindeer Comet...so cute!

An owl, and I must say that owl's are so beautiful

After almost freezing ourselves we all went back to Grandma and Grandpa's for some hot cocoa to warm up. Harrison was such a hoot, because he just kept telling me to take pictures of him.

Harrison put hot pads on his head, why I'm not sure...
Next it was Aunt Geeta's turn for a hot pad hat...

Chilling around enjoying cookies, peanut brittle, and hot cocoa

Dad and son! They are goofy by nature!
I really had a great time at the zoo. My nephews were so excited, and I got to share this memory with them.

Our Little Family Photo shoot

Saturday, November 19th 2011
Tim and I have our family photos. It's been 8 years since we had photos taken. I felt it was long over due, so I scheduled the time and place with our photographer James Larson. I came to learn of him from work...he so happens to be my boss, but as a hobby he does professional photography.
We met at the Ogden Hampton Inn and Suites in the Lobby area. Great colors, and endless possibilites for the photos.
Now I feel I must explain that Tim does not like having his pictures taken, and so it was kind of difficult to get him to smile for every frame. However there were moments that Tim and I were joking around, and laughing. I am very pleased with our photos. Tim looks handsome, and I don't think I look to bad either.
James did an excellent job, and I'm thankful for his patience in working with us.

A grateful heart!

I have so many things to be grateful for it overwhelms my heart. First and fore most I am so very thankful for my family, and that's all members... parents, grandparents past and present, in-laws, all extended members... Without my family I would not be the person that I am today. As a child they helped me, taught me, nourished, and continually teach me new things. I can only pray that one day I will be able to pass on my wisdom.
I grateful for my friends, including close personal friends to the ones of Facebook.
I'm grateful to be an American, and to have my freedoms and rights in this beautiful country. I grateful to all those whom have served and serve today this nation to continue providing our freedom.
I'm grateful to modern medicines to help me manage my diabetes, and for modern technology in entertainment and communications.
I am grateful for the blessings the Lord has given unto me. He's blessed me with a loving and caring husband, a home that shelters us with comfort and warmth, the best pets we're been privileged to know, great employment, and all other provisions.
I'm thankful for the gospel; it has brought a comfort to my life. I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and that Jesus suffered for my sins so that I may return to live with my Heavenly Father one day.

Roxy, The Killer

This evening Tim came home to let the kids out and play ball with Koda. While Tim was outside with them he observed a pheasant fly down and hit the shed, and then Roxy jump unto top of it. Sad to say she killed the pheasant. Tim saved it to show me, and I must say it was a beautiful bird.

One night about a month ago she pounced a cat that was hiding in her dog house. I'm happy to say that cat got away.
The girl will kill anything that comes into the back yard, so all you other animals stay out.
