What stands up, must come down

Adventure or more like a mishap. This afternoon after finishing up lunch Officemax pulled up with our delivery. Tim working hard upstairs totally ignoring the situation doors stairs. I yelled out "Officemax is here." I hurried to get the dogs outside when the phone rang. Roxy was being difficult and finally I pushed her out. I ended up missing the call, but I knew it was the delivery person just verifying.
I quickly walked outside to meet with a nice young man with Tim's new office chair. HOORAY!
While I was talking with him, somehow the dogs managed to open the back door and come strolling out the front door. "GREAT, just great!" Thankfully Koda stayed close to the front door, but I had to wrangle up Roxy. I was getting frustrated and worried that Koda would go on the run that I yelled to Tim to come help me, and back outside I went.
I managed to to get Roxy to head towards the house and in the door. I look towards Tim, and he's holding his foot. So I had to ask what was wrong, and he went on the explain that he fell down the stairs.
At this moment I didn't see any wounds, and I was finishing with the delivery man. After all and all I then went onto tending Kohl because now he's cranky and tired and it's nap time, but out the corner of my eye I see blood on Tim's finger. Into further discovery Tim had cut his toe. It's the area right between the toes that's really hard to get to unless you separate the toes with your fingers.
"HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?"
I looked at it, and my first initial reaction was that needs stitches. He wasn't sure, but I suggested that he take a picture and send it to his sister who's a nurse and ask her opinion. I then left it to him, and proceed to putting Kohl down for a nap. He later came in and said that he's going into Instacare. I just asked that he keep me informed while I stayed with the sleeping baby.
So about 2 hours later... He got 3 stitches.
Just a whole lot of fun we're having in Texas. I'm just grateful it wasn't worse like a concussion and broken bones.

9.21.2013

It's just been one thing after another.
Monday Tim took Roxy to the animal hospital to get staples in her leg, because somehow she cut it Saturday night after everything was closed.
Friday Kohl spit up on my flat sheet, and then we woke up from naptime to pee all over me, him, and the bedding. Then I went down stairs to dog vomit on the carpet.
I had it. I asked Tim to stop and get the Pet Spotbot to clean up the vomit and future messes.
He also stopped and picked up Olive Garden for me.
The day started bad, but ended on a good note. Spotbot got the vomit out, and I ate the most delicious meal!

What comes after 5?

I feel that my baby isn't a baby anymore. He's getting so big, and looks almost like a toddler, but sure enough he is only 6 months old. I'm trying to grasp the thought that it was 6 months ago that I brought this wonderful boy into the world.
Recently he's been experiencing pain off and on with swollen gums. I can't wait for this tooth to break thru. Yet it is exciting that he's going to be grinning at me with teeth soon enough.
In the past month Kohl has been rolling, rolling, rolling. He loves to roll all over the place. He likes to sit up, but it doesn't take him long before he's down rolling around. Also in the past month he's learned to sort of scoots himself by applying pressure to his knees and lifts him butt in the air then sort of leaps forward.
I can see that he really want to move around more, and it frustrates him, but how do you tell a 6 month old "all in due time."
When he can he loves to munch on his feet. I would love the be that flexible...
Later in the month we'll be going for his 6 month check-up, and I'm really anxious to know how long he is, and how much weight he's gained.
In the meantime it's on the with daily stuff of spoon feeding, bottles, diaper changing, and playing with my little man.

He insisted on rolling away while I was changing his diaper.

We Made It!

Wow! What a journey this has been. I never imagined in my life that I'd move to Texas. I have been raised in Utah, and lived there my whole life up until now.
Tim and I set off on our adventure with 2 dogs and a 5 month old in our Dodge Journey late Saturday morning (August 31st.) We stopped off Saturday night at La Quinta in Cheyenne, Wyoming which so happened that there was a dog convention and our hotel is pet friendly.... As I walking in with Koda a woman with her dog started freaking out because Koda wanted to sniff them. I explained that he wasn't aggressive, but she cussed me out. I was upset with her, but I was also very tired so my emotions were probably high.
Then early Sunday morning we were back on the road. We drove through Colorado which I absolutely loved. It's very beautiful. I wish I could have stopped to experience what Colorado has to offer, but we were on a mission to a designated destination. Sunday evening we stopped to rest at Best Western in Amarillo, Texas. It was nice and comfy, but we were so anxious to make it to our new home we woke up even earlier and got back on the road.
We made it to our home in Dallas, Texas by about 1:00 pm. Hooray! We survived the drive.

Now the hard, sweaty work begins. Unpacking! Probably one of the things I hate most. I'm fine with packing, but unpacking....yuck!
Once we arrived at our new home. Tim unpacked our trailer, while I tended to Kohl, and set up our sleeping arrangements as we had no furniture, but on Tuesday we had everything happening at once.
U haul delivered our boxes, and just in time the movers from Trophy Movers came and unloaded everything while I watched Kohl. Also at the same time there was the cable guy getting us set up, and Best Buy with my brand new washer and dryer, and refrigerator. There's one problem with the fridge... the ice maker and water dispenser are faulty so they'll be delivering a newer one on Monday, Sept. 9th.

If I've learned anything from this move it's that I need to be patient in everything and everyone around me. I am so thankful that we were blessed to have a save drive, and no problems with our vehicle or trailer.
