Traffic into the fair was crazy, but once you get in it's really amazing. Their rides are bigger then I've ever seen at a fair. There are games galore. They of course had live stock which we did not see, but wish we had.
When we first walked in there was a sunscreen station there for everyone and anyone to use. I was very grateful since I had forgotten our sunscreen at home. Once we had our protection on we played a game with balloons and water guns, and we were able to win this cute stuffed giraffe for Kohl. Kohl didn't like the sound of the balloons popping, but we had fun.
Next we both got a corny dog, which was tasty and then we were off. They had a pumpkin carving exhibit in this greenhouse type place. We walked around, and it was so beautiful.

Farmer Mike carves pumpkins for a hobby, and does some pretty amazing things. I wish I had the skills to carve pumpkins like he does.
We saw the state fair icon "Big Tex." He's this giant animatronic statute that is well over 50 feet. He talks, and his mouth moves as well as his hand and arm. It's pretty cool.
We walked through this amazing Chinese Lantern festival with these huge sculpted laterns. We were there in the early day so of course we didn't see them lit up, but just the colors from the fabrics sewn together was bright and colorful.
Also while at the fair we enjoyed funnel cake, cotton candy, and fried chicken on a stick. They had LOTS of amazing foods. You can get pretty much anything fried there.
